About Giovanna

Hello! Welcome to L&C Dialogues. I am Giovanna, a modern and ancient Greek teacher, born and raised in the heart of Greece, Athens. As I take a quick trip down memory lane, I can recall many nostalgic moments of my life: downtown visits with my mom at small downtown bookstores to discover hidden treasures. Teen walks with my friends under the sacred rock of Acropolis for a cup of hot chocolate. Family visits with my husband and son to the antique market in Monastiraki, enjoying delicious greek meals in the little taverns of Plaka.

A city that never rests!

As a student, my love for the ancient and modern Greek language and literature led me to the School of Philosophy of the University of Athens. Ever since, it’s been a pleasure for me to help people learn the Greek language, but not detached from everything it stands for. Greece is not only the islands and the ancient history, democracy, and philosophy. Greece is much more, such as poetry, symbols, ties of friendship between people, hospitality, traditional music, morals, and customs.

My true ambition for my students is not only to be taught how to speak in Greek but to think and feel like Greeks. Also, to feel free to share information from their culture in Greek.

And that can be a fascinating cultural experience
